With Neon Signs, Car-Dealerships, and Diners
Posted by Larry Karnowski at November 12, 2002 9:21 AMI came across a site called Forgotten Roads on My Yahoo's daily picks. I love photographs of old America, and this site's got 'em. These are old-school road signs, rusted cars, and lonely stretches of road.
This reminds me of a site I came across a while ago, Lost America, which takes beautiful and sometimes eerie night photos of desert ghost towns. These aren't your bad-cowboy-movie old-West ghost towns, these are towns built in the 50s and 60s. Several were trying to be the new Las Vegas and had plenty of extravagant casinos. It's strange to think how quickly we can build something and then abondon it. Still, these pictures are very beautiful.
