Rosie Thomas on NPR

Rosie's album When We Were Small was #19 on my top 25 CDs for 2002 list. She's got a real Joni Mitchell/Sarah McLachlan feel to her, but all acoustic guitar, a very sparse sound. It's beautiful.
I first heard of her when she opened for Josh Rouse at his Pine Hill Farm house concert last year. She was a surprise, but what a surprise. Her comedy routine made me uncomfortable. It was funny, but also very sad at parts, almost painful. But her music is inspired, delicate and sweet. I love her songs October and Wedding Day.
