How to Jam
Posted by Larry Karnowski at January 22, 2003 10:32 PMI've recently started going to Bluegrass jams around town and with my friends, as I'm lucky enough to live in an area chock full of good Bluegrass musicians. It's been a bit intimidating at first, as I really don't know what I'm doing on the fiddle still. It's fun though, and the folks are very inclusive, even to novices like me.
To help me out, a friend sent me this article on how to Bluegrass jam, and I wanted to share it. It's great, starting with the instruments, their parts, when to take a lead, when not to take a lead, etc. Great reading for anyone who wants to jam.
