Just Say No to Super-DMCA

Posted by Larry Karnowski at April 22, 2003 9:04 AM

If you live in Tennessee (which I know many of my friends do), please, please, please, send this letter to your local state representative and senator.

The "Super-DMCA" laws have been proposed by Hollywood-interest groups to dictate the use of digital and Internet-related technology in our homes and offices. (The list immediately includes Internet firewalls and routers but could quickly extend to any computer, VCR, PVR, stereo, and beyond!) There is no need for this except to give even more money to the fat cats in Hollywood. Please read about the proposed laws, make up your own mind, and hopefully, send in that letter.

Note that these "Super-DMCA" laws are being proposed in other states as well. Your state might be next.

I'm sorry, but this stuff just pisses me off. I mean, aren't there real problems in the world to solve rather than all this bureaucratic, artificial, freakin' greed-induced bullshit? Go read a book!

So I thought I'd take a chance and see if you were back to your bloging ways... and sure enough, here you are! Welcome back! :)
