Moving On UP

Posted by Larry Karnowski at July 30, 2003 11:35 AM

"to a deee-lux apartment [rental house].... in the sky-eye-eye [north Raleigh]..."

Well, it's now double official -- me and the Racoon Fink are gonna be roomies. Ben R (as the Racoon Fink, Ranger Rick, is also sometimes known) and I are renting a house up above I540 in north Raleigh. Two geeks in a house... damn.

It was already official last week when Ben and I signed the lease and paid the security deposit, but today it's double official because I put in my notice at my current apartment complex. We're taking occupancy of the house in mid-August, which will give us a couple of weeks to move.

I'm actually not looking forward to the moving part of this move. I've lived in this apartment longer than any other -- a full two years, and I've accumulated more furniture and stuff than ever before. Oh well, with a big two-car garage, nice fenced-in backyard, and a place to have pickin' sessions/parties, well it's definitely worth it!

God bless me and Ben, though. Neither of us has had a roommate in a while, and I really see him as an Oscar to my Felix. We'll muddle through somehow.

UPDATE: Oh, and I've already filled out the applications to not only move the NC satellite office of the Polish Ponderosa (which is currently located in my apartment) to the new house, but also a new application to become the official NC House of Bastardville. My brother, the original HOB founder, is overseeing my application as I write this, and he assures me my chances of getting the title (for NC anyway) are good. (Keeping my fingers crossed!)

"Now we're up in the big leagues... gettin' our turn at bat..." Damn! I used to love to watch the Jeffersons!

Congrats to you both! When you don't feel like being Felix to his Oscar, you can try being Lyle to his Robert Earl Keen and write songs about your old porch and stuff. That'd be super cool.

Hmm, do I want to be Robert Earl Keen or Guy Clark? Such a hard decision.... And, lest we forget, it's LYLE that gets all the women...
