Scott Miller's Train Ride

Posted by Larry Karnowski at January 13, 2004 2:00 PM

Okay, someone posted my blog to the Guitartown mailing list as a source for Scott Miller concert information involving his Amtrak Crescent tour (the "Mule Train") starting January 21st. I wish I knew what the hell was going on, but I don't. I can only offer Scott's official site, the rather information-weak page about the Mule Train tour itself, and an article from the Metropulse, Knoxville's independent newspaper.

Update: Here's another article, this time from Charlotte.

I like his idea of using more trains in this country. I've been thinking along those lines for a couple of years now. If someone would connect Memphis TN and Charlotte NC through Knoxville, then hell... I'd ride that train every Thanksgiving and Christmas for years to come. I'd much rather ride than drive, even if it took the same amount of time!

I've been known to take the Amtrak north to D.C. when I'm meeting Kelly and Hallie at the in-laws house. It's a nice way to go. Roomy seats, you can get up and walk around, power outlets at every seat for the laptop, and you can gab to your heart's content on the cellphone. Takes about the same time as driving there, too.

And besides, riding in on a train is the only REAL way to enter Tennessee, in my opinion. They were made for each other.

Dude, I'm tellin' ya, IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME! I'd love to ride the train to TN, but there's nary a train that'll take me!

Ouch! Rock n roll does not run on a train schedule, but damned if Scott Miller won't try to make it.

More info's up now at http://thescottmiller.com site and more goodies as I get it.

Keep up the good work!
