Damn The Beard

So I'm having a "bad beard day." This is a day where it's driving me crazy enough that I just want it gone. If this weren't the "Evil Larry Month", then I'd be shaving it off right now. (Un?)Fortunately though, I have a goal -- I have to stick with the beard until at least February 1st. After that, well, we'll see.

It is getting softer though. One of the interesting things about a beard is, when you first start growing it, it's all wiry and stiff because the hair is so coarse. But after a few days, it starts growing in much softer and feels more like hair on the top of your head. So each time I trim the beard, I take off that top layer of wire-hair, and it feels much softer. If it weren't for the fact that I trimmed it yesterday and it was so much softer today, I might be saying "to hell" with ELM and just shaving today anyway. (I don't really care much for beards, but if I don't let it grow out for a month or so each year, it gets too coarse and sand-papery to deal with the rest of the year. Sigh.)
