Weird Science
Posted by Larry Karnowski at February 6, 2004 9:03 AMBy Oingo Boingo
From my heart and from my hand
Why don't people understand
My intentions?
(Weird)
(Weird science)
Plastic tubes and pots and pans
Bits and pieces and
Magic from the hand
We're makin'
(Weird science)
Things I've never seen before
Behind bolted doors
Talent and imagination
(Weird science)
Not what teacher said to do
Makin' dreams come true
Living tissue, warm flesh
(Weird science)
Plastic tubes and pots and pans
Bits and pieces (and)
Bits and pieces (and)
CHORUS
(Bits of) my creation--Is it real?
It's my creation--I do not know
No hesitation--No heart of gold
Just flesh and blood--I do not know
From my heart and from my hand
Why don't people understand
My intentions . . . . Oooh, weird . . . .
Weird science!!
(Weird science)
Magic and technology
Voodoo dolls and chants
Electricity
We're makin'
(Weird science)
Fantasy and microchips
Shooting from the hip
Something different
We're makin'
(Weird science)
Pictures from a magazine
Diagrams and charts
Mending broken hearts (and makin')
(Weird science)
Something like a recipe
Bits and pieces . . . .
Bits and pieces . . . .
That's right boys and girls, this morning the master chefs at Hickory Wind are serving up some vintage audio geek joy, aged almost twenty years, and chilled to perfection. Enjoy!
Also, your homework for this weekend -- spend the $2 to download Weird Science and Dead Man's Party from iTunes. You'll thank me later when there's a quiz.
I tell you what, ol' Danny Elfman is a twisted puppy, but he's a damn genius twisted puppy. Hmm, the same goes for his good buddy Tim Burton.
Cool! I was cranking Dead Man's Party yesterday. It brought back so many memories.
Posted by: Mark Turner at February 6, 2004 9:37 AMSome of us have already done our homework by owning Oingo Boingo's Greatest Hits. Will that get me extra credit?
Posted by: Amy at February 6, 2004 9:39 AMMark, dude, you're showing your age! ;-) And Amy, you're showing your geeky edge! ;-) Of course, extra credit all around! Woohoo!
Posted by: larry at February 6, 2004 9:43 AMAnd Mark, odd that you were listening to it yesterday too. What is it about this past week or so that's channeling the Dead Man Party vibes? Odd!
