iTunes EQ Presets

Posted by Larry Karnowski at March 22, 2004 4:07 PM

Holy sound-quality, Batman! I just discovered the equalizer presets in iTunes.... I may never get any work done again. I'll have to go and adjust every song I own... They make a HUGE difference! And the best part -- they get synced with the iPod, so it uses the same EQ settings. BADASS!

Oops! Just kidding about that "not getting any work done," Shane -- my boss buddy, my old pal... (Forgot he reads this!) ;-) I'll get right back to work!

Sidenote -- what's scarier, your Mom reading your blog or your boss? Hmmm, I guess it'd have to be BOTH of them reading it, AND writing comments to each other! :-P

Comments

Just stumbled upon your blog by looking up info on the Stripes' Black Jack Davey (a recent iTunes download). . . . and felt like I was reading something out of my own mind: Dylan, Cash, Gram Parsons, Elvis . . . cool. Glad I found your site. I'm listening to Autumn Defense, Lucinda, Elvis and Dylan right now on iTunes while working on my laptop.

I look forward to visiting your site again, and I'll soon link you to my blog. Keep up the good work.

And if my mom read my blog. . . well, that would be bad news for sure.

The presents carry over to your iPod????? Holy crap! Just when I thought it wasn't possible to love my iPod any more ....

Hey, it's not so bad to have you mom read your blog is it? If so, I'll stop!! not really!

John -- welcome to HickoryWind.org!

Mom -- of course you're welcome to read the site, like I could stop you anyway! ;-) It's just an old blogger joke -- "what if your mom reads your blog?"

And Stacy -- hold on to your socks cause I'm about to knock 'em off -- even better than the presets syncing with your iPod... it syncs the start-up/stop times too!

So, say you've got a live CD, with lots of inane chatter before or after a song that you NEVER want to hear again, go into iTunes, find the place where you want it to start/stop, click "song info", and set it. Voila, iTunes thinks the song starts/stops there from now on. AND IT FRICKIN' DOES THE SAME ON THE IPOD TOO! Woohoo!!

I had a problem with the secret song on the Hot Club of Cowtown live CD. It's got FORTY-FIVE SECONDS of dead air at the beginning! Yuck! Either I'd forget and think my mix had stopped, or I'd be in the truck and my iTrip radio transmitter would actually STOP -- blasting me with radio static. (It's got a 30-second timeout and then it powers down.) I said to hell with that -- iTunes and iPod save the day!

Wow.

My socks are totally not even in the building anymore.

Ok this is totally off the subject but have you heard of the Nigerian 419 web scam?

I don't think it's bad if your boss reads your blog. Especially since you never post anything here during work hours...

And I'd only worry about your mom reading if she freaks out and starts talking about wet dreams or something, making you totally uncomfortable and striking fear in the hearts of all your friends (who are also starting to realize how you've turned out like you did).

P.S. Not knocking your mom here. Frank told me she was hot.

Exactly Shane, I *never* post anything during work hours, and of course my Mom would *never* post anything to embarass me, nor does my boss. So I should just relax.
