Some iTunes Quickies
Posted by Larry Karnowski at May 11, 2004 8:57 AMSome iTunes quickies to start my day:
* They just added the Two Dollar Pistols with Tift Merritt EP to the iTunes Music Store today. If you don't own this one, you need it. You won't be disappointed! It's three classic country duets sang by Tift and John Howie, Jr. and two more Tift/Howie originals in a similar vein. Very nice! As far as I know, this is the earliest Tift recording, ever.
* I also noticed that Thad Cockrell has his Warmth and Beauty album on the iTunes Music Store now. Sweet! Go Thad! It's a partial album though, more's the pity. Hmmm, seems it's only missing the secret song, dammit.
Okay everyone (especially Stacy) -- your homework is to buy the following songs: Warmth and Beauty, I'd Rather Have You, and Taking The View. Unfortunately the secret song, Misery Feeling Again, which ROCKS is not on the store. Hmm, I guess you should just buy the CD, but if you're unsure, those three songs will give you a good taste.
* You can also evidently download the Two Dollar Pistols' new release, Hands Up, even though it doesn't hit the streets for another week. Again, I'm torn. I want to buy the actual CD, so do I download it now??? Ah, the agony that is iTunes...
Oh wait! Okay... never seen this before. It's just a placeholder. Evidently you can't download it. Well, that settles that, then. ;-) Nice to know it'll be up there though.
I'm realizing I just can't give up the CD media. I've bought lots of single songs off of iTMS, but only one album. I just can't seem to give up my collector-habit. Hmm.....
Woohoo! They added the Two Dollar Pistols "You Ruined Everything" disc today! God bless the iTunes RSS feed!

Posted by: larry at May 12, 2004 8:54 AMOh man, you've never steered me wrong on iTunes before. I will get crackin' on that homework as soon as I get ... home. Although I'm sort of on music-purchase moratorium to recover from Merlefest's merch tent and in anticipation of June, where there are approximately 200 CDs I must have coming out. But, you know, a little iTunes downloading never hurt anyone ...
