They're here! I finally got my Ryan Adams tickets!

I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this, and how strange this show will probably be. You have to understand Ryan Adams. He's as fickle as the day is long. And he HATES North Carolina.

Why's that, you ask? I really don't know. He's from here, and he got his start right here in Raleigh and Chapel Hill, at the very venues I go to almost every Saturday night. I wasn't here then, though, so I've never seen him live.

At some point, however, Ryan and North Carolina had a falling out. I don't know the story, but the Guitartown folks obviously do. Many still openly hate him. It's interesting. Most won't even name him, stealing a line from Harry Potter and calling him HWSNBN instead. ("He Who Shall Not Be Named," a reference to Harry's nemesis, Lord Voldemort) You can see it for yourself on their calendar site. It cracks me up.

I don't know what made Ryan decide to hate his home place, and I don't know what made him decide to come back. (As far as I'm concerned, he's very welcome to come back home! A little Southern air'll do him good!) However, I'm willing to bet this'll be one explosive show. He'll either play it straight for his momma and family who'll be there, playing the best damn show I'll probably ever see, or else he'll just give the entire region the double deuce and screw it all to hell. I really don't know, but I'll be happy to see it either way -- as long as he actually shows up. I know this could very well be one of those shows that will be remembered for a long time! I promise to keep y'all in the loop...
