Fourth of July
Posted by Larry Karnowski at July 4, 2005 8:21 AMY'all, I just wanted to wish you a happy Fourth of July from the folks here at HickoryWind.org. I figure even if you're not an American, you're probably into Americana to read this site -- so happy Independence Day to you too!
I also wanted to give a belated happy birthday to one of my favorite Americana fans and pickin' buddies -- my father, Frank, who turned the big 5-0 yesterday. Thanks for all your support and love, Dad!
And lastly, to celebrate the holiday, my band, the Right Turn Clydes, will be bringing the acoustic Americana love to around a hundred people today. I'm looking forward to it, and I'm trying not to think how hot and humid it's going to be today.

Larry, thanks for the birthday wishes, we missed you at the big party this year! I hope your gig went well. Yes, I have now officially been on the face of this planet for half of a century. Most people say that I don't look a day over 60. But what do they know. Believe me, it will be here soon enough for you too.
