Bulgaria? Man, that song is all over the place!

Tonight I was eating dinner and drinking beer with a couple of former Communists from Bulgaria -- a couple of Cyrillic computer geeks, and the fact that I like "country" music came up. It was a pretty funny conversation as it always seems to be... however, this time, my new Bulgarian buddy tells me he doesn't like country, but he knows this great country song. Yep, you guessed it, the Charlie Daniels timeless classic, The Devil Went Down to Georgia.

Man, that song gets around! Well, I'm glad it does. I can't tell you the number of people I know whose only exposure to Americana music is that song. And I don't think I know anyone who -- deep down -- doesn't like it. Even in Bulgaria. Evidently.
