Helping at HickoryWind
Posted by Sean Moores at September 2, 2005 10:54 AMI hate to drop a new entry right on top of Stacy's post, because I appreciate all the hard work she puts into reminding you good readers of the great new releases hitting the racks each week. I feel a little better in that I'm sure Stacy (and Larry) would agree that this is worthwhile. I'm going to donate the amount of two new CDs (let's call it $30) to the American Red Cross to help with its relief efforts for the people affected by Hurricane Katrina. I'd like to ask all of the good folks who read this site if they'd consider doing the same. Even if you can only afford to donate the price of one new CD, collectively we could make a small contribution to a huge effort. We here at Hickory Wind like to think of ourselves as a community of like-minded music fans. Even if we aren't like-minded, we are a community. You can click here if you'd like to make a donation to the Red Cross. I don't know if this means I'll buy fewer CDs next week, but I do know it means that some of the people who desperately need food, water and shelter will get it. It's a small price to pay to help the healing begin.
Now you get an Amen, brother.

Posted by: Stacy at September 3, 2005 7:04 AMGreat idea.
Just to let you know you guys in the US are not one your own.
I am from the UK and share your loss,to anyone effected by Katrina you are in my prayers and thoughts.
Somehow sending a few quid (dollars)doesn't seem to be enough, but seeing the tv / pictures from Biloxi and NO I guess every little bit helps.
