Happy 3rd Birthday, HickoryWind.org!
Posted by Larry Karnowski at October 28, 2005 1:47 PMI just wanted to point out that today is HickoryWind.org's third birthday. I started this wee little blog ages ago in 2002, a far simpler time. After several ups and downs, I finally got the idea that jam sessions (like parties) are much more fun with friends than alone, so I invited first Stacy and then Sean and Amanda to write with me. I've had more fun this past year with my friends aboard than I did in the first two years put together! And I wouldn't have met any of you if it wasn't for this little site!
So I want to say a bunch of thanks. First off, to the readers and commenters on this site -- I sure do love y'all. Thanks for showing up and adding your voices. I hope we've brightened your days a little, and I hope we've shown you some great music! Please please, spread the word. Get this music out to your friends and their friends. This music is what binds us together, and that's powerful stuff... not to be taken lightly.
And then I want to say a big, big thanks to Stacy, Sean, and Amanda -- y'all keep me up late nights writing when I should definitely be getting my beauty sleep. Y'all crack me up to no end, and I appreciate every word you write. Y'all are doing this in your spare time out of the kindness of your hearts, and I love ya for it. If I was on stage, I'd ask everyone to give Stacy, Sean, and Amanda a big big hand.
So happy birthday HickoryWind.org! "And... many... more..."
Happy Birthday, folks. Enjoy reading this site, a lot of different viewpoints!

Posted by: Amanda at October 29, 2005 12:27 AMCongratulations on running such a great music blog. I honestly think it's the best I've come across - not just for Americana but across all genres.
