New releases: Dec. 6, 2005
Posted by Stacy Chandler at December 2, 2005 7:31 AMActually, the above title should be "New release," singular, if we're going to be accurate about this. I mean, yes, lots and lots of CDs are being released this Tuesday, but the only one I could find worth mentioning is an EP by the White Stripes called "Walking With A Ghost," released by V2. It's got five songs, four previously unreleased live ditties and one cover -- the title track by the very excellent and under-rated band Tegan & Sara. For Ben Folds fans, there's a DVD coming your way from Sony (watch out for sneaky computer antics!) called "Ben Folds and WASO Live in Perth." WASO as in West Australia Symphony Orchestra, but you knew that.
That's pretty much it, but just so you don't feel cheated by your dose of hickorywind.org on this Friday, I leave you with this. Apparently there is a single and video making the rounds on radio and CMT and the like by one Trace Adkins
called -- and I swear I'm not making this up -- "Honky-Tonk Badonkadonk." Yes, it's true. I'm also not making up the following lyrics to this song:
It's so hard not to stare
At that honky tonk badonkadonk
Keepin' perfect rhythm
Make ya wanna swing along
Got it goin' on
Like Donkey Kong
I think I am going to start telling people this song is why I left America. This and R.Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet."
Interesting comparison. Does Mr. Adkins pee on anyone in this video?
