Ho Ho Hum
Posted by Stacy Chandler at December 23, 2005 10:19 AMSorry, kids. Santa's bag o' new releases is empty this week. I guess we were bad. Or ... I guess no one bothers putting out CDs the week between Christmas and New Year's because they know we'll all be too busy with CDs we found under the tree and/or hungover to buy new releases. Good call on that.
The pointy-eared little elves at Hickory Wind are busy, too, compiling our lists of top albums of 2005. We're making our lists and checking them twice (and then deciding they're no good and crumpling them up and starting them over on a new scrap of paper and trying to beat that nagging feeling like there's some really excellent CD we're somehow totally forgetting so maybe this list is shit, too, and god almighty I need some more of that spiked egg nog, stat). And we will share our lists with you a little closer to year's end. We know you (oh yes we do! We KNOW you, and we really like that shirt, by the way), and we know you're making your own list, too. I'm right, aren't I? I knew it. Soon we'll all settle down by the fire (or by the pool, if you're Down Under and not exactly expecting snow anytime soon) and have sharing time, so keep that list handy.
As I might be the last person from Hickory Wind to post before Sunday, let me be so bold as to speak for all of us and wish all our readers, lurkers, commenters, friends and families a very merry Christmas. Everyone stay safe and warm (or cool) this Christmas, and remember your manners if your crazy aunt gives you a fruitcake. We'll see you next week.
