What the ... ???

Meaningful dance pieces, spectacular torch-lighting, etc., etc. But what the hell was up with the music each nation's team walked out to? Perhaps the orchestra went on strike at the last minute and someone had to work with the "Totally '80s" and "1970s Club Hits" CD collections in his car for filler? I don't know about you, but "YMCA" and "I Will Survive" don't do all that much to inspire the Olympic Spirit in me. Mainly the endless parade of "yesterday's hits" just put me in the spirit of checking VH1 for "America's Next Top Model" reruns instead.

get this. I was listening to espn radio and it appears that each nation got to select its own tune.....creepy huh?
