Goodbye raw squid, hello fried chicken!

Well folks, I'm one good night's sleep and one loooooooong plane ride away from a little visit back to the U.S. of A., land of my people, land of my favorite foods (oh Sonic, oh lemon-berry slush, ooooooh), land of Merlefest. Land where I can read all the menus ... you have no idea how exciting that is.

So the HickoryWind.org Tokyo bureau is taking a little break ... but its ace reporter isn't! I'll be posting when and where I can from various places I'll be visiting in the States. First and foremost, from Merlefest, later this week. After that, who knows? I'll be in LA (for a 10-hour layover), Atlanta, various points in Alabama, and Washington, DC. I'll also be stopping in Greenville, S.C., to visit the friendly folks at my favorite record store in all the world, Horizon Records. With the damage I'll do on that stop, and all that time in the car going from place to place, there'll be a lot of time for music. So I'll share what I can. When I can. How I can.

See you on the other side. Of the planet, that is ...

The folks at Horizon can't wait. You're paying for their trip to Bermuda.
