A bizarre bummer at Bonnaroo

Just got done reading an Associated Press write-up of Bonnaroo -- sounds like it was a good time, though of course we won't have the real scoop 'til we hear back from Larry and anyone else who was there.

But while we're waiting (WAITING!) I have to share one thing that was way down at the bottom of the AP story:

There was one death at Bonnaroo this year. A man wearing a Bonnaroo admission armband was killed Friday when he was struck by the tour bus carrying bluegrass artist Ricky Skaggs.

Weird, huh?

From another AP story, turns out the fatality was a Bonnaroo-armband wearing 21-year-old Ohio man who officials say walked into I-24 traffic. So no one's blaming Ricky's bus driver. Or Ricky. Just a bizarre twist of fate, I guess.

I can't resist noting that while the festival organizer issued the standard quote about being saddened, etc., the Ricky Skaggs camp, in typical douchebaggish fashion, was mum. Real classy, Ricky (and/or Ricky's "people"). Right on.
