Lots of blasts from the past this week -- remember Bruce Hornsby? Remember Edie Brickell? Remember Raul Malo? They're all back (not that they left) with CDs to entice us.

New releases for Tuesday, July 25, 2006:
Delbert McClinton -- Live from Austin (New West)
Raul Malo -- You're Only Lonely (Sanctuary)
HickoryWind.org review coming Monday.
Old Crow Medicine Show -- [EP] Down Home Girl (Nettwerk)
A three-song EP designed to whet our appetites before the late-August release of their next full-length album, where all these songs will also appear.
The Drams -- Jubilee Dive (New West)
Lonesome River Band -- The Road With No End (Mountain Home)
various artists -- [Soundtrack] Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man (Verve Forecast)
The soundtrack to a documentary of interviews and tribute-concert footage. Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, Nick Cave and Beth Orton are among those covering Cohen's songs.
Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians -- Stranger Things (Fantasy)
Bruce Hornsby -- Intersections 1985-2005 (RCA)
A 4 CD (almost half the songs previously unreleased), 1 DVD box set coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Hornsby's varied career.
Flogging Molly -- Whiskey On A Sunday (Side One Dummy)
The band records live or studio acoustic takes on their songs. It's a Dualdisc, so you get music and a documentary.

Comments

I'm really looking forward to hearing some of this new music. My favorite new release, however, has to be Cash V: A Hundred Highways. I liked it so much, I wrote this song about it:
