HEM :: New Album (Funnel Cloud)
Posted by Justin Gage at September 6, 2006 3:39 PMIt's the beginning of September, so in addition to crisp Autumn evenings, the changing foliage and college football, you can also expect a lot of good albums between now and the holidays. That's how the biz like to do. One such album is HEM's latest: Funnel Cloud. No real stylistic surprises here, as the group continues to work their carved niche of Country-politan fare. While more upbeat that Eveningland, the album retains some of No Word From Tom's immediacy.

I'd been meaning to check out Hem for a long time, after hearing raves about them from my buddy Carlton for years. But this post finally reminded me to do it -- and damn! After listening to a few snippets on iTunes, I'll be ordering "Funnel Cloud" from my favorite indie music store in a jiffy. Can't wait to get it!
