Ryan Sings Hickory Wind on YouTube

Posted by Larry Karnowski at September 17, 2006 8:21 PM

Well, since it's YouTube, of course the video looks like ass, but the audio is great, and let me tell you, it's great! Unfortunately it's cut short at the end. Again -- it's YouTube. Here it is, Ryan Adams singing Hickory Wind.

(God love him!)

I wish there was a way to make the video look better and to filter out the "harmony" singing of the other guy. He's really just doubling lead through most of the song -- it's completely unnecessary. But Ryan's voice shines through and sounds really, really good.

Thanks for the heads-up Larry- I had no idea there was so much Ryan stuff on YouTube! Breaks my heart to see the stuff he plays at *other* concerts (not the ones I attend), but I'll take what I can get.

I hear you, Val, but at least you've seen him a few times.

Beautiful.

And perfect timing, what with the anniversary of Gram's death (33 years ago) comin' up tomorrow.

Not to rub it in, but I actually saw him perform this song live about a month ago. It was gorgeous.

If you're interested in getting a better audio of this, you could try www.ryanadamsarchive.com
Look for 2006-08-03 - The Vogue, SBD. The taper community captured most of his concerts this summer.

A good performance. I'm going to see him tomorrow, hoping he'll play this or another Gram song.
