New releases: Oct. 10, 2006

It don't get much rootsier than this week, and those roots run from the ultra-traditional (like from Natalie MacMaster's blazing fiddle or the Be Good Tanyas' haunting harmonies) to the twangtastic (Wayne Hancock comes to mind, as does Shooter Jennings). But I'll just let the full list do the talking ...

New releases of note for Tuesday, Oct. 10:
Natalie MacMaster -- Yours Truly (Rounder)
Dale Ann Bradley -- Catch Tomorrow (Compass)
The Hackensaw Boys -- Get Some (Valley)
Mindy Smith -- Long Island Shores (Vanguard)
The Be Good Tanyas -- Hello Love (Nettwerk)
Wayne Hancock -- Tulsa (Bloodshot)
If you missed it, be sure to check out an interview with Wayne "The Train" by HW.org's own Jim Pipkin. Or even if you didn't miss it, heck, read it again.
Trent Summar -- Horseshoes and Hand Grenades (Palo Duro)
Shooter Jennings -- Live at Irving Plaza 4.18.06 (Universal South)
The Austin Lounge Lizards -- The Drugs I Need (Blue Corn)
Ellis Paul -- Essentials (Philo)

I thought the Be Good Tanyas weren't together anymore... was that just a bad dream?

I hope Wayne's CD does well for him. He seemed like a really decent guy, a good businessman who still has a cool sense of humor. And ya just gotta love that raw roadhouse sound!
