Bad association
Posted by Stacy Chandler at December 18, 2006 7:23 AMI know sometimes it's easy to lament that our favorite artists aren't embraced by the mainstream, with all the money and power and reach the word implies.
But sometimes, the mainstream does this to promote its artists. And it's times like this I realize that while our artist may have to struggle, may have to work a day job and drive a beat-up minivan to gigs, may have to sign bum contracts just to live their dream, they still have their dignity.
Clue me in here, because I live overseas and sometimes am taken very much by surprise by new trends that have sprouted up in my homeland. Porta Potty wrap ads? Wha?? If I arrive at Merlefest to find a huge Sam Bush billboard plastered on the door of my chosen Porta Potty, I think I'm going to be severely weirded out.
I've heard each Porta Potty is also supplied with artist specific toilet tissue!

Posted by: larry at December 18, 2006 8:30 AMI'm surprised we didn't see those at Bonnaroo...
Posted by: Waylon at December 18, 2006 9:53 AMSeems to me they would be more user-friendly with skimpily-clad women pasted INSIDE the doors...
Posted by: Jim Pipkin at December 18, 2006 11:39 AMWaylon - that was the first thing I thought when I saw that image. I was getting serious Bonnaroo flashbacks. (And not the good kind!)
