Sugar Hill Records Leaves North Carolina
Posted by Larry Karnowski at January 10, 2007 10:00 AMIt's a sad day here in the Research Triangle in North Carolina. Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill are saddened to learn our own Durham-based and much beloved record company, Sugar Hill, is moving to Nashville.
I hope they continue to do well, but I'll definitely miss their presence here.
Sugar Hill Records publishes some of our most beloved musicians like Doc Watson, Dolly Parton, Nickel Creek, and Scott Miller among many many other Bluegrass stars.
I first heard Mike Cross on a Sugar Hill album (vinyl, for ye yonkers). Hope they don't lose their down-home goodness moving over the hill...
