Top 11 Reasons I Love YouTube
Posted by James Goodfellow at February 14, 2007 8:30 PMHere's a little love for you on Valentine's Day. Ever spend much time on YouTube? Well, until recently, I really hadn't. I figured it was full of more of the same user-created nonsensical crap that infests much of the rest of web 2.0 – and it is. But, there are also some real gems out there for anyone brave enough to wade in.
So, without further ado, I give you the top 11 reasons I'm loving me some YouTube.
1. Whiskeytown performing Song for You on the Sessions at West 54th in 1999
2. Flying Burrito Brothers Sin City Promo Video
3. Pre-No Depression video of Uncle Tupelo
4. Hank Williams on the Opry in 1952 singing Cold Cold Heart
5. Pre MIB-Cash singing Big River in 1959
6. Bill Monroe in 1957 singing Close By
7. Stanley Brothers early 60's version of In The Pines
8. 7 Year Old Ricky Skaggs playing with Flatt & Scruggs
9. Jimmie Rodgers singing T For Texas from 1929
10. Steve Earle, Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings playing Sin City
11. Lori McKenna singing Bible Song live
The Johnny Cash impersonating Elvis is a pretty nice one as well.
