An unreleased track from Warren Zevon?

Warren Zevon, who is unfortunately best known by drunk howling fratboy barflys only for writing "Werewolves of London", is one of America's great songwriters. Warren not only tackled love, but also politics and technology in his songs during his too brief career. I've heard rumors of a previously unreleased Zevon track. Based on the lyric sample below, I don't think you'll hear it on the campaign trail in 2008.

Nuclear arms in the Middle East
Israel is attacking the Iraqis
The Syrians are mad at the Lebanese
And Baghdad do whatever she please
Looks like another threat to world peace
For the envoy
Send the envoy . . .
Send for me

Damn it, sorry, I apologize. Those lyrics are from Zevon's "The Envoy" released in 1982. Why didn't somebody play this for George W. Bush?

The more things change the more they stay the same.

too brief? his first album came out in '69. too brief is gram parsons. or hendrix/morrison/joplin. but i guess its all relative. im glad warren gets love from hickory wind, he certainly deserves it. he was one of those rare talents that dont come around too often.. and what an exit! lawyers, guns and money! he was a true bad ass
