Convert Dad's albums to MP3 in one easy step!

Posted by Hal Bogerd at June 11, 2007 11:04 PM

I've noticed weekly ads from the Circuit City, Best Buy and other electronica distributors for USB output turntables. If I hadn't already converted most of my vinyl (and cassettes) to MP3 files I'd be tempted to pick one up. The prices seem pretty reasonable especially if you factor in the money you can save by NOT rebuying some of your favorite classic rock/moldie oldies on iTUNES! I know if I had one of these suckers I'd probably sit in front of my computer for hours practicing my scratching techniques!

I know for a fact that Costco offer one of these for like $100. Not sure about the quality, but if you're just using it to convert your LPs, it may do the trick!

I've had one for some time now (Ion), and it works beautifully. The software automatically separates the tracks into separate MP3s, tho you have to name them manually.

Still in process of digitizing my collection (dating from the late 50s!) but it proceedeth.
