Divine Intervention?
Posted by Hal Bogerd at July 14, 2007 12:20 PMThere have been several recent reports of people struck by lightning while listening to music on their iPOD. I believe a lightning strike falls into the broad category of an"Act of God". It makes me wonder what song the lightning strikees were listening to when they got zapped! What song is so bad that God would send a million volts through your IPOD (and you) to destroy your iPOD playlist? Just to play it safe, I'm only listening to 5 star songs when I'm running and I'll never ever run listening to "Oops, I did it again" (even if it is the Richard Thomnpson cover) again!
This is quite possibly the funniest HickoryWind post I've ever read... immediately going on the "classics" list. ;-)

Posted by: Waylon at July 16, 2007 8:25 AMMetal draws lightning. Back in my explorer days, we all knew to shed any metal-framed packs, metal canteens, knives, buckles, EVERYTHING when we were caught out in a thunderstorm. A nice poncho, a low (non-drainage!) place to hunker (NOT UNDER A TREE!!) and we made it thru fine.
If someone on the trail with me now tried to bring an iPod under my poncho during a storm, I'd slap it right off of their head! No matter what it was playing...
