Coming attractions
Posted by Stacy Chandler at August 7, 2007 10:35 AMIn case you weren't already convinced that Alison Krauss is a master interpreter who also has perhaps the most deliciously wide-ranging taste in music around, consider this: In October, she will release "Rising Sand," a collaboration with Robert Plant. Like the Led Zeppelin Robert Plant. That one. The Rounder release, out Oct. 23, will feature covers of all stripes, ranging from Leadbelly to Tom Waits (really? I can't wait to hear that!) to the Everly Brothers. And it's produced by T Bone Burnett. So, you know, it might rule.
No less exciting is news that Josh Ritter, whose "Animal Years" graced many a Top 10 list last year, is already done with a new project. Sony BMG Music Entertainment/Victor will release "The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter" on Aug. 21 -- a mere two weeks from today! But you needn't wait that long to get a lil' taste. Stream the first single, "Right Moves," here whenever you're good and ready.
Thanks for the heads up. I know I'm looking forward to the new Josh Ritter disc!
