Posted by Stacy Chandler at September 28, 2007 3:50 PMHmmmm, maybe I should have listed who ISN'T releasing a new CD this week. Because the list of who IS releasing CDs is mightly long. Ah well. Getting right to it:
New releases of note for Oct. 2:
Bruce Springsteen -- Magic (Sony)
Ryan Bingham -- Mescalito (Lost Highway)
Cross Canadian Ragweed -- Mission California (Universal South)
Merle Haggard -- Bluegrass Sessions (McCoury Music)
Doug Sahm -- Live from Austin, TX (New West)
Eliza Gilkyson -- Live from Austin, TX (New West)
David Byrne -- Live from Austin, TX (New West)
Cake -- B-sides and Rarities (Upbeat)
JJ Cale -- Rewind: The Unreleased Recordings (Time Life)
Annie Lennox -- Songs of Mass Destruction (Arista)
Over the Rhine -- Snow Angels (Great Speckled Dog)
Chuck Prophet -- Soap and Water (Yep Roc)
The Sadies -- New Seasons (Yep Roc)
Chip Taylor -- Live from the Ruhr Triennale (Train Wreck)
i am thrilled that Ryan Bingham has made it to Lost Highway. All music enthusiasts have their favorite artists that no one else has heard about, and Ryan Bingham has been one of those to me since his debut in 2003. Highly recommended.
