New releases: Oct. 23, 2007

Tomorrow's releases list reads like a stack of "What I Did Over the Summer" essays from really, really cool kids. The project bug bit, and we reap the benefits tomorrow in the form of the long-anticipated (and, from the previews I've heard, expectation-exceeding) collaboration between Alison Krauss and Robert Plant, an EP from freshly rehabbed Ryan Adams and a Dwight Yoakam student-becomes-the-master tribute to mentor Buck Owens, who passed away last year. If you want music that makes you think this week, break out the glasses and tweed. And if you want music to just make your ears happy, well, you just got a two-fer-one. Enjoy!

New releases of note for Tuesday, Oct. 23:
Shooter Jennings -- Wolf (Universal South)
Robert Plant/Alison Krauss -- Raising Sand (Rounder)
Dwight Yoakam -- Dwight Sings Buck (New West)
Ryan Adams and the Cardinals -- Follow the Lights [EP] (Lost Highway)
Neil Young -- Chrome Dreams II (Reprise/WEA)

Thanks for the list. I just realized I'm NOT buying the RA ep. I'm just not interested anymore.

I picked up the Robert Plant and Alison Krauss disc. Rather different than I expected... *really* mellow. There's a few keepers on there, though.
