New releases: Nov. 13, 2007
Posted by Stacy Chandler at November 10, 2007 11:52 PMAh, 'tis the season, folks. The season during which the music industry decides to prop up its feet and ride out the rest of the year. Instead of feeding us some pipin'-hot new releases to go with our turkey and egg nog, we get back-catalog cleanouts, best-of collections, and the occasional new gem from the likes of -- shudder -- Celine Dion or Duran Duran.
So I'll prop my feet up, too, and bring you news of new releases only when warranted, which I predict will be seldom, until the first of the year, when the new releases list will again be posted PROMPTLY on Fridays. Ignore the fact that this one is being posted on, um, not Friday. The new year is a fine time to rededicate myself to posting the list on time, and so Friday it shall be. For reals.
Meantime, all of us at HickoryWind.org will labor tirelessly to bring you the latest news, reviews and whatevers during the holidays. We can eat leftovers and type at the same time, see. AND WE DO.
That said: There are two releases of some interest for next week. First we have The Hives' "The Black and White Album," on the Octone label. Then there's James Taylor, if you're into that, with "One Man Band" -- a CD/DVD do-up of him performing 40 of his songs and telling the stories behind them. That's on Starbucks' Hear Music label, but will be sold everywhere, I believe.
