For what it's worth ...
Posted by Stacy Chandler at November 30, 2007 12:45 AMStephen King is already thinking about his 2007 best-of music list, and he's not happy. He said he could only find seven CDs worth holding for praise.
I think I'll have quite the opposite problem, but I give His Creepiness props for a damn good list, anyway. You can read the whole list here, but I'll give you the highlights: Among the praiseworthy were Wilco's "Sky Blue Sky," Lyle Lovett's "It's Not Big It's Large," John Fogerty's "Revival," and "Countrypolitan Favorites" from Southern Culture on the Skids. And at number one? Steve Earle's "Washington Square Serenade."
So there you go. Now, if you find yourself sitting next to Stephen King on the bus, you'll have something to talk about.
wasn't King heavily pimping Ryan Adams album on its release? Hm, it must of went sour for him.
Posted by: trey at November 30, 2007 7:10 PMMaybe he actually went to a Ryan Adams concert...
Posted by: Jim Pipkin at November 30, 2007 8:51 PMAw..I liked the Berkley show i went to. Really solid set. Maybe he doesn't list it due to a thing that used to called "conflict of interest".
Posted by: Patrickhayes at November 30, 2007 10:02 PMI can understand omitting Ryan and Lucinda. Their 2007 discs aren't near my top twenty. C'mon Mr. King. Dig a little deeper, there is a lot of music out there...maybe I shouldn't say that since I never read your books!
Who did you miss.... Ian Hunter, Josh Ritter, Two Dollar Pistols, The Silos, Jonathan Rundman. That alone gives you a dirty dozen for 2007!
Bright Eyes!
