Um ... OK, but ... um.

Bonnaroo just announced the lineup for this year's festival, and, um, Metallica is one of the co-headliners.

I mean, Metallica's fine (except for that whole Napster flip-out, but moving on), but ... huh.

Just, huh.

I'll cover your "huh" and raise you a "wtf?"

I'm still bummed no Zeppelin. Maybe next year. (Which would be better anyway, cause then I could go.)

(Who am I kidding? I'd go his year too, somehow, if Zep was playing.)

Stand in the mud and driving rain (or blazing hot and humid weather) with a bunch of dirty hippies . . . no thanks.

Isn't there a retirement home they should be playing?

I remember when hippies were cool, they listened to the best music and hacky sack wasn't invented.

Well, we saw Tool at Bonnaroo last year...hippies are head banging these days apparently. I'm glad Kanye will be there, be a good time to cool off in the RV with a frosty beverage. Not gonna miss a chance to see Jack Johnson, Allman Brothers, Derek Trucks, Death Cab, Drive By Truckers, Avett Brothers, Robert Randolph, Aimee Mann, Umphrey's McGee, Yonder Mountain String Band, and whatever this "Bluegrass Allstars" thing is (which includes Sam Bush and the greatest dobro player on Earth, along with the greatest banjo player) all in a three day period...oh yeah, Willie Nelson and BB King will be there as well. Can I get an Amen???

The reappearance of Waylon! Dude! Welcome back! And quit making me feel bad about not going again this year! Sheesh! ;-)

OK, now look. I have to stick up for Kanye. While Bonnaroo is pretty much the most ridiculous setting I can think of for him, dude's got style. And flow. And ... stand back! ... substance. Most of the time. I love Kanye, even if he did totally steal my dance moves.
