Jason Harrod : Bright as You

Posted by Hal Bogerd at February 17, 2008 11:18 PM

Jason Harrod's 2007 release "Bright as You" was produced by Phil Madeira (Phil's second band was Hickory Wind according to his website-no connection, just coincidence) and mixed by North Carolina hipster John Plymale . The standout tracks "The Sun is Up", "When I Fly Away" and "My Mad Girlfriend" display Harrod's soulful voice and power pop hooks, recalling local NC music scene legend Don Dixon and his underappreciated Most of the Girls Like to Dance but Only Some of the Boys Do
. A very nice find and maybe, if everyone gets lucky, we'll hear one of these tracks on the radio. Until then stream "When I Fly Away" from Jason's myspace page. Enjoy!
