Winter's Fall / Muddy & White EP
Posted by Hal Bogerd at February 27, 2008 10:00 PMWinter's Fall "Muddy & White" EP offers up five tasty tracks of indie folk rock. Lap steel, drum machine on one track (my ONLY complaint), organ, computer samples and piano fill out the sound, adding some color to the bass, guitar and drums. The buried vocals and mournful hooks made me think of the Josh Ritter lyric "I was singing without knowing the words" as I hummed along. Singer-songwriter Peter Stanley doesn't waste words in his carefully crafted tunes: the lyrics (thankfully included) and track information all fit on one side of the cd insert. This 4-track recording hints at a bright future for "Winter's Fall".
