Freebie from “Tell Tale Signs” At BobDylan.com
Posted by Sean Moores at July 31, 2008 10:32 AMColumbia Records announced this week that Vol. 8 of the Bob Dylan Bootleg Series, “Tell Tale Signs,” will be released on Tuesday, Oct. 7. “Tell Tale Signs” features unreleased recordings and alternate versions from sessions that produced some of Dylan’s finest latter-day albums: “Oh Mercy, “Time Out of Mind,” “Love and Theft” and “Modern Times.” The set, which will be released in two-disc, three-disc and four-LP versions, also collects other unreleased recordings, a handful of soundtrack offerings and live tracks from the past 20 or so years.
If you register now at the retooled bobdylan.com, you will receive a free mp3 download of “Dreamin’ of You,” an outtake from Dylan’s 1997 recording sessions with producer Daniel Lanois. Those sessions, you may recall, resulted in “Time Out of Mind,” which won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 1998.
If “Dreamin’ of You” is representative of the rest of the material collected, “Tell Tale Signs” will be a collection to savor, even when compared to the consistently high quality of the other Bootleg Series releases.
The free mp3 was sweet! After drooling on it for a little while, I immediately added it to my webcast song pool.
Posted by: Walrus at July 31, 2008 6:04 PMIs it blasphemy to say thanks but I have enough Dylan?
Posted by: Hal at August 1, 2008 1:22 PMI'm looking forward to this release. Every decade of Dylan is so different and the 90's wasn't so bad.
Oh, and what was up with him in that Victorias Secret commercial a few years ago?
