Thumbs up? Thumbs down?
Posted by Hal Bogerd at September 25, 2008 6:30 PMApparently, there is a new music format that will be introduced for the 2008 holiday shopping season. "Slot Music" is a micro SD card developed by SanDisk. Each SD card will hold an album worth of music, cover art and liner notes. "Slot Music" cards are about the size of a stamp and you would plug it into your phone/MP3 player/laptop. There is no information available on pricing but I think it is safe to assume it won't be below Apple's $9.99/disc price for a digital download.
Is it just me or does this sound like a doomed technology?

Because what the world needs now is MORE PLASTIC.
