Justice prevails

"Raising Sand," the T Bone Burnett-produced collaboration of Alison Krauss and Robert Plant, scooped up five -- count 'em, five! -- Grammys on Sunday, eclipsing the buzz that had been around Lil Wayne and his eight nominations (he won just four, though to his credit, he WAS competing against himself in a few categories) before the awards were given out.

We've said it before, and we'll say it again: "Raising Sand" is one killer album, and you won't hear anything quite like it out there. So do your ears a favor, and listen up.

FUN FACT: A track from "Raising Sand" also won a Grammy at last year's awards. Not sure how that happened, but, eh -- I'm not complaining!

ANOTHER FUN FACT: In the history of the Grammys, guess who is the winningest artist? That's right, Alison Krauss! She's won 26 now, at the ripe old age of 37. You go, girl.

What a career T-Bone Burnett has had (is having)! From Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue to the Alpha Band, followed by some great solo discs ("Proof Through The Night", "Trap Door" and "Truth Decay"), some mostly unrecognized but influential work as a producer in the 80's and 90's (Los Lobos, Tommy Keene, Elvis Costello and Gillian Welch for example) and now throughout the 2000's he's getting some well deserved recognition and earning Grammy nominations AND awards.

How does the same album win two years in a row?

Good question ECHT99. I've seen some weird Grammy awards but at least they didn't give Robert Plant the "Best New Artist"!!!!
