Rita Hosking's "Come Sunrise"
Posted by Hal Bogerd at August 14, 2009 10:27 PMRita's third recording, played on and produced by Rich Brotherton, with support from Lloyd Maines, Warren Hood, Danny Barnes among others is a mellow slice of Americana with deep Appalachian roots. Rita's a gifted songwriter with a strong clear voice straight from the mountains and Brotherton's done a beautiful job letting Rita's talents shine. Fans of Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson's "Rattlin' Bones" and Gillian Welch's work will find much to enjoy on "Come Sunrise". You don't have to take my word for it. Listen here and here and see if you don't agree!
Stand out tracks: "Promise Land", "Come Sunrise" and "Upside Town".
