Play "Name The Songwriters" and win a copy of Ronnie Fauss' "I Can't Make You Happy"
Posted by Hal Bogerd at October 21, 2009 11:34 PMRonnie Fauss has quickly followed up "New Songs For The Old Frontier Vol. I (reviewed here) with "I Can't Make You Happy", a three song digital EP (both recordings are available through iTUNES). Ronnie's a talented Americana songwriter with a style influenced by the wave of Americana that launched "No Depression". If you miss Uncle Tupelo, Ronnie's still carrying the flag. The title track is an acoustic tune lamenting ............ I'm sure you can figure that one out. "One Eye Open" is an surprisingly upbeat tune warning about the repercussions a cheating scoundrel may suffer for mistreating a woman. In the catchy self-referential "Another Song", Ronnie's "singing another song that you will never hear". In it he mentions nine songwriters he admires by first name only. You can prove Ronnie wrong by listening to "Another Song" where you'll find some helpful hints that might help you correctly fill in the last names of the mentioned artists!
