Our kind of Grammys

Posted by Stacy Chandler at February 1, 2010 3:18 PM

Slipping under the radar, far, FAR beneath the all-star Michael Jackson tribute, Pink's near nudity and Taylor Swift's heartfelt speeches (eyeroll), were awards handed out for the kind of music we dig around here. Here's a list of the Grammy winners that most interested us:

Best Americana Album -- "Electric Dirt," Levon Helm
Best Bluegrass Album -- "The Crow," Steve Martin
Best Contemporary Folk -- "Townes," Steve Earle

And in one more triumph for twang, Bela Fleck won two Grammys -- Best Contemporary World Music Album and Best Pop Instrumental Performance -- for "Throw Down Your Heart: Tales from the Acoustic Planet Vol 3: Africa Sessions."

Browse all the winners, and the nominees they were up against, here.

Somebody needs to turn Swift's monitors up. Or turn her mic off. She's cute, but she can't SING.
